steve08087,
In sheet 'New Issues', cell A38 and copied down:
![]()
=IF(D38&G38&J38&M38="","",LEN(SUBSTITUTE(D38&G38&J38&M38,D38,""))=0)
Hope that helps,

That did it !!! Actually - I used this for my whole document - as I now realize that I didnt need to compare the exam codes... this is also very easy to edit on the fly - since sometimes my 1st column is blank, so I just simply edit the last piece of this IF formula to reference the next column, and then drag it down - for that section,
Thanks !!!
Steve
Hi -
Attached is a revised spreadsheet. I think I understand the first part, but I'm confused on the second part. On the second part you say all the exam codes are to be different. However, in row 41 you show 2 occurrences of exam code ABD1 and 2 occurrences of exam code PORTABD, yet you have that test as TRUE. I don't understand how you are differentiating which exam codes can be the same and which can't.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your efforts,,, I know it's a bit confusing... the body sites had to be the same - and all i really wanted to compare - the exam codes are related but did not necessarily need to be the same - I guess I just didnt explain it well enough - that the exam codes could be the same or different - and have no impact on the True/False value - only the body site needed to be measured.
I appreciate the time you spent though
Very sincerely,
Steve
You're very welcome![]()
