    Using Sumifs

    Hello This is my first post hope it works alright. (Excel 2007) If you look at column J on the attached workbook you will see that it adds value from column D depending on the date of column B. The date range is based on the dates on column H (Pay Dates). My question is how can I use cell reference# like in J4 use H4 instead of ">=5/10/2013" and H8 instead of "<=5/23/2013" . This formula works great for now but I have to change it as time goes by. I currently use column I (formula in I5)

    sorry, not very clear from your example workbook what you are trying to do, can you give us the original formula that "works great"? and how J4 and J6 are calculated to 411.97 etc

    Hi Stepside,
    It seesm like you cut and pasted values only. There are no formulas in your example workbook. Can you please try again or layout the formula you are asking about?

    Thanks

    =SUMIFS($D$2:$D$25,$B$2:$B$25,">="&H4,$B$2:$B$25,"<="&H8)
