    date of last cell change

I need to know if there is a formula that will tell me the date another cell was last changed.

for example; I change data in cell A7 almost daily. i would like a formula in cell A7 that tells me the date i last changed the data in A6. is that possible?

    thanks in advance.

Nope - you'll need VBA for something like that.

How about a formula that = (today) if cell A7 is changed?

    Hi, simpson,

please check the sample from Stephen Bullen at LastChng.zip. Description given on Stephenīs site:
Here's the deal: You have a number of cells that are changing on a regular basis (e.g. DDE stock price feeds). At any point in time, you want to know which was the last cell that changed, what was its value before the change, and what is its value now. This worksheet does exactly that, using circular references. Full explanations included in cell notes in the sheet.
Today() is a volatile function in Excel that will update on any caluclation made and the show the correct date (which definitely isnīt what you are looking for).

    Ciao,
    Holger
