Score Tabulation Formulas PLEASE HELP

Ok, here is my problem. I am trying to create a spreadsheet to tabulate scores. I have got the basic adding formulas up and running. However, I need the sheet to lookthru a column on a specific number of cells, list them highest to lowest, list those in other column, and then display the name of the contestant next to that score... I have run a ton of formulas even pulled one from another sheet, and still cannot get to work for me.. anyone have any suggestions?? I will need this explained to me, because I am not the brightest when it comes to spread sheets.. lol TY!Tabs.xls

you have quite a few scores on the sheet -
with the example you posted - tabs.xls - can you provide exact details of what you want to do

you can use ranking and extract the name into another worksheet based on the ranking

heres a simple example - which we could apply to your set of data- once we know the full details of how to rank

so in my simple example

we have a list of names in column A

and a set of scores in column B

then a column - which you can have anywhere hidden in the sheet - column C which provides a unique ranking - so that if the number is the same it will apply the same rank

Now we extract the name in descending order based on the ranking into column F - and this could easily be to a different worksheet
then using vlookup - we get the data to go with the name

is that the sort of thing you are trying to do - if so let us know what the exactly you are trying to do and what columns to rank
