Question Joining two tables using a common column

    Hi all,

I've searched but have not been able to find a problem similar to mine. So I apologize if somebody have already asked the same question.

I attached an excel file should you need more info.

I basically want to join the two tables in Sheet 1 and Sheet 2 using the email column from each sheet. If email is matched, then join the rows, otherwise leave blank or #N/A

    Thank you very much.

Re: Joining two tables using a common column

Opened the sample, but there is no data in the columns, and no explanation of what is supposed to wind up where?
Which table gets populated, or does a third table have to be created?
Maybe throw some dummy data in the tables and a few expected results; so we can see what you need
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!

Re: Joining two tables using a common column

    =IFERROR(INDEX(Sheet1!$A$2:$Q$28,MATCH($A2,Sheet1!$R$2:$R$28,0);MATCH(B$1,Sheet1!$A$1:$Q$1,0)),"")
    Is this what you want?

Re: Joining two tables using a common column

Sorry for lacking of content dredwoft. My goal is to add/join table from Sheet 2 with the table from Sheet 1 (I will delete unmatched data). I modified the sample so I hope it makes more sense now.
@popipipo: From what I read, it seems to be what I want but it gave me error, I will see if I need to change your function a little bit to make it work.

    Thanks all.

Re: Joining two tables using a common column

My solution is very similar to popipipo's actually...In S2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =IFERROR(INDEX(Sheet2!$B$2:$S$12,MATCH($R2,Sheet2!$A$2:$A$12,0),MATCH(S$1,Sheet2!$B$1:$S$1,0)),"")

drag down and across, see Attached

    Hope this helps
