    Question Calculate workable time table

Hi i am not really educated with MS Excel. What i am trying to do is calculate my total hours (reg. pay)...total hours (shift differential)..... total hours (weekend shift differential) .... my lunch in and out .... and overtime hours. I will attach a workable Time Sheet here if anyone has the time to take a quick look.

    Thank you

    Re: Calculate workable time table

Hi Lambshot, looking at the sheet now Not sure I understand your blue and purple questions they both calculate to 8 hours and both fall on the evening shift the way I read it. Am I missing something? You do need the evening shift and weekend shift columns you don't need the overtime column unless you are paid overtime by the day and not over 35 hours for the week. The only issue you may run into is if you work over 24 hours in a row.

    Re: Calculate workable time table

Hi ... what i am trying to do with this time sheet is be able to use it for "All" my pay periods .... so the data will always change. Will this time sheet work like this ? Each pay period i would then save it as "pay period 1 ..... and so on.

    Thank you

    Marg

Are you looking to save the whole worksheet as a new sheet or just some of the data on the sheet for each week into another sheet?

    Re: Calculate workable time table

Yes ... Each time i save it i will name it "Pay Period 1" .... "Pay Period 2" and so on. The formulas will remain the same it is just the data that i enter will change. Does this make sense lol?

    Thanx

    Re: Calculate workable time table

There are a number of ways to do this but since you're only doing it once a week the easiest way is to right click on the Employee Time Sheet tab and click Move or Copy and click the create a copy and click OK. This will create a new copy of the sheet that you can then rename to whatever you want. Then you need to go back and clear the fields on the "Master Employee Time sheet" to get it ready for the next week. This should only take a minute to do.

If you want to automate some of this you can record a macro to copy what you are doing then play with it until it give you what you want. Just test it on a copy of the file first because you can't undo what's done by the macro. Again Good Luck!!

    Re: Calculate workable time table

Just looked at the sheet again and I just realized what was going on in the cells you had colored in blue and purple. I had shut off the "Show Zeros" in the Excel options to make the sheet look cleaner but 12:00:00 AM is also a 0 so they were not displayed on the sheet. Sorry about that.

Marg, since I was playing with the file and 90% done I went ahead and added the macro and some additional notes to the file. try it out and let me know if you have any questions.
