    Dates in excel

Here are the columns i have.....

    Column a. Received date
    Column i. Targeted return date
Column j. Vises targeted return date
    Column k. Days overdue
    Column l. Returned date

What I need is for column k to calculate the number of days overdue a task is.

We have 2 days for each task...so each task would start at -2 days and start calculating until i enter a returned date in column I.

If no date is entered in column a, then column k would be blank or 0.

One more wrench to throw in....if a task will take longer than the two days ( which column i is column a + 2 days), then column k needs to recalculate and tell how many days past due the task is by that date.

And now I've gone cross eyed.....

Please help...I know this is an easy one.....but it is not popping out at me.

    Thanks.

    Re: Dates in excel

It is definately set up like i need. However, when i enter a date in the taarget reeturn dat column (which is a formula of column a +2....so the first one would populate s 3/10/2013. When it populates, then the days past due would be -2 and as each day went by it would count up. once i enter the completed date, the days past due would stop counting and lock in on the number of days.

And if i need to enter a revised due date....it would calculate days past due from that date....

    thanks,
    Dave
