Summing rows by year formated from a formula

The attached file sholud mak this a lot clearer.

I want to sum the rows by year but some of the lookup data is derived from formated formulas. The data in row G3:L3 is the result of formating and sumIf does not work. I think it may require some kind of Sumproduct but I am not sure how to write the formula.
