    Calculating values from different sheet

    Hi All,

    Straight to the point!!

I have a workbook with 3 sheets each having 2 columns!

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Now i need to search in all 3 sheets, if column A value of one sheet matches with another sheet, then i need to sum the values in column B. if it doesnot matches then i just need take those values and put it in my resultant sheet.

so the result from the above example will be as below:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Since here the first value in column A of sheet 1 matches with that of sheet 2, the values in column B is summed up.. all other values are placed as it is..

    Thank you,

I'm pointing you to the solution to the question. A single formula to do what you've stated is huge and cumbersome and unnecessary. Read the tutorials, it shows you exactly how to easily get the resultant output you've noted using a Multiple Range Pivot table. That's what it was written for.

Re: Calculating values from different sheet

AS SDCh has demonstrated for me (and I've used that very site/technique to do it), you CAN do it with cumbersome, complex formulas like that. My point still stands, it's completely unnecessary and requires you to pull out all the "codes" to put in your resultant report. A Multiple Range/Sheet Pivot Table is simpler to create and will create all the codes for you.

As JBeaucaire said Pivot table is simpler to create and will create all the codes you need

I just show you that you can use that formula
