Two drop down lists, to produce in two other columns

    Hi everyone,
I'm a very novice excel user and would like help with one of the projects i'm working on at work.

I made a drop down list in Columb A for Gender (male, female) and in Columb B for Age (19-30, 310-50, 50+)

What I would like is if someone chose Male from Column A and chose 31-50 range from Column B, In column C it would produce how much fruits they should have eg. 2 serving, ets.

I have attached what i have so far, I just need help with fomulating the formual. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

I rearranged your tables slightly to make this work. Look at the attached. Need to have the values as numbers and not text for the cups.

Also look at this link http://www.contextures.com/xlFunctions03.html

In particular example 4. Make sure when you enter the formula you use Control Shift Enter to get the curly brackets necessary for this to work.

What would be the excel formula to add C2 & D2 for E2?

Is is possible to make a pie chart from the data provided?

For example, 2cups fruits and 3 cups vegetables, so a pie chart would appear or 2 red(pie slices) and 3 green pie slices to make awhole pie? I'm not sure if its possible, just asking...

thanks again for your help! Totally made my Friday!

Because you have text fields you cannot add them using the example in your table. You need to change your data in your table to numbers as I have done in my example. You can then do a simple =C2+D2 in E2.

You will be better served with a stacked Bar Chart. Pie charts look pretty but are worthless from an analytic perspective.
