Hi! I need help on counting between 2 criteria of date and time range. For example, how many instances between 01/01/13 9:00:00AM - 9:59:59AM. I tried the countifs formula but it counts only the number of dates.

okay.. you need instances between 0:00:00 and 1:00:00 ... but where ?
do you need output in cell E2 or E3 ?

Yes sir. Between 00:00:00 to 00:59:59, 1:00:00 to 1:59:59, and so on.
but where.. in front of 0:00:00 or in front of 1:00:00 ? i.e, in cell E2 or E3 ?

Merged Cells (They are the work of the devil!!!)
have two separate columns for start (say column A) & stop (say columns B) format both to time have a third column for formula =ABS(A1-B1) format to custom h:mm:ss
