Vlookup based on IF critria

Hi therenot sure if this is even possible but i wasnt to have a formla that does the funtion of a Vlookup but retruns the values from different cols depending on certain criteria. See the axaple attached the formula i need is something like:

In I4 =Vlookup(H4,A:D,=if($H$2=$B$3,2,=if($H$2=$C$3,3,=if($H$2=$D$,3," "))),False) - This is deffo wrong!

or in words

In I4 look for H4 in Col A, retrun the data in COl B if H2 =scott, retrun the data in COl C if H2 =Jane and retrun the data in COl D if H2 =Dorris, if non leave blank
