Have vlookup not search a blank cell

On Sheet1 I have a list of 5 digit numbers E4 to E1773, and to the right other numbers that I will call up using column E, one of those numbers in cell E1535 is 00000 (I need it to be that way).

On Sheet2 I use VLOOKUP formula to locate 5 digit codes I enter A7 to A200 and show the results on the right, I have A7 to A200 formated as "Custom" 00000, when column A is blank and waiting for me to enter codes, columns to the right get populated as if code 00000 was entered in column A. (I dont want it to do that) I want columns on the right to be blank or show 0's when column A is empty.

How do I do that? I tried searching for days and tried everything, the only thing that works right now is if I have something like "-" in column A, but as soon as I enter new codes and than delete it columns on right get populated data from sheet1 for code 00000.

Also when I actually want to search for code 00000, I enter 00000 click enter and cell is blank but still shows the result for code 00000 (I want it to show result for 00000, but I also want 00000 code to stay in column A and not just be blank
