Adding rows without changing formula origin

I have a document that takes values from the main sheet and places it in the 2nd sheet. Also I have values in the 2nd sheet that goes back to the main sheet for calculating. The problem is this:
1- I want to add new rows in the 2nd sheet and maintain the values from main sheet in the appropriate cells. Currently, when I try to add more rows in sheet 2, the values change to other values on the main sheet.
2- I want to add new rows in the main sheet and maintain the values

    Any help would be great
    thanks. :-)

Re: Adding rows without changing formula origin

It's not a specific problem... just a general one
I have a column with cells that pull data from cells a sheet and when I add a row, the data then is being pulled from a different cell
I want to be able to add rows without that happening because it takes so long to redo everything just to add one row
