[How To] Reordering Headers and Data Of A Workbook To Match Another Workbook

let's say i have a workbook that has columns with headers with data in them and another with the same headers and different data out of order.

i would like to know the easiest way of getting excel to reorder a workbook to match the other workbook's headers in the same order while also moving the data under each header as it reorders the workbook to match the original workbook's headers.

i really don't know much about macros or formulas beyond basic formulas excel offers, a simple easy to understand explanation other than do it manually would be of great help.

    thanks in advance.

Try this, with the correct header position book open
on a new sheet in the book to be corrected enter this in cell A1:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    Drag Across to column BJ
    In A2 enter this:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

Drag this down as far as needed, then across to column BJ again

Then Copy the entire page, paste special -> values

In the attachment, I did this on another sheet, to keep the formulas there for you to see, but you could just do it right on top of the formula page up to you

    Hope this helps
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!

works perfectly for all workbooks as long as i edit the data in the formula for cell ids pertaining to the amount of headers and the name of the file used for reference.

thanks man you made this a lot easier than it would have been had i had to do this manually, respect.
