Linking Cells from Master sheet to data sheets in workbook

    Hello all,

I have one workbook(first workbook) that has all of the basic site information for our research. That workbook has a master sheet with all of the important data as well as other tabs with more information for each specific site.

I have another workbook I am working on that uses some of the information off of the first workbook so there are cells that are linked up together. There is a master sheet as well as tabs for specific information for each individiual site. I am bascially needing a formula that will link the data on the master sheet to its specific individual tab to a cell. This could be done 1 by 1 but would take alot of time. All of the individual tabs are the same format, just differnt data.

Any input would be great, If I need to attach a file to better explain myself that could be done as well.

    Thank You

I think I can help you but this kind of example changes depending on what the data looks like, so if you could upload a workbook please?

    OK.

So in your 0001 tab, enter into the date planted cell:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    and for the date harvested:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
Obviously, for larger lists of dates, you would need to expand the range from A10 and D10 to say, A1000 and D1000.

And if it makes it easier to set up, you could enter the value of 3001, 3002, 3003 etc. into any cell (say, A1) and then reference that cell rather than entering 3001 into the formula.

    Does this help you?

Re: Linking Cells from Master sheet to data sheets in workbook

The formula works but only for 3001 and the "0001" tab. In the "0002" tab, the date should be for site ID 3002. With the current formula i would have to manually enter the site ID in the formula for each worksheet. Also, using 3001 would not work real well because next year it will be 4001. But like you said, I can reference it to a cell and that will always be constant. Is there any other modifications I could do to the formula to make this work better?
    Thanks for the help

Without using VBA to count the sheet number and base the cell value on that (not my forte), that's about as far as I can help you with this.

If you feel that that is the solution that you want, you could post this in the VBA section (post a link to this thread to avoid cross posting).
