I have lots of formulas that reference other spreadsheets but they won't update (even when I hit F9) until I open each spreadsheet that it is referencing. Any Quicker way to do this?

Hi jiptastic,
One way would be having full path of the workbooks in the formulas starting from the server name. Also check if your workbook's calculation mode is set to automatic. Thanks.

VLookup won't work if your sheet isn't open.
Dear forummembers:
The above line (statement) is incorrect.
It also works in closed workbooks (I tested it afterwards).
I'm sorry for posting wrong information.

Dear oeldere, Vlookup fetches values even from closed workbook. I have just checked this, to be sure of, before writing this post.VLookup won't work if your sheet isn't open.
