If a Value within a range of cells equals "X", then return the unique value (name) in another range of cells.

Welcome to the forum.
not clear... lets say a1:c5 has "X", then you need a unique name from another range lets 'say d1:d5 .. correct ? OR you have some other point ?then return the unique value (name) in another range of cells.

=INDEX(Range of values to return, MATCH(Value to lookup, Range of values to look in, 0))
^ Use that syntax and it should work.
e.g. Using dilipandeys ranges:
