Formula to change multiple cells colour if criteria met

    Hi everyone,

I have a simple query which i'm sure is simple for all of you excel genius's but i'm struggling to make it work.

    My question is as follows:
If i was to put "No Survey Required" in Cell A1, I want a selection of other cells to all format to the same colour (Grey)

Basically, I have several columns. column A1 = Survey Date. If no survey is required, I want all the cells in that row relating to the survey to be grey'd out.
For the purposes of this question, Lets say, A1 = Survey Date (Populated with "No Survey Required") and I want A1, B1, C1, D1 & E1 to be greyed out.

Im stuck. Hope you can help

Re: Formula to change multiple cells colour if criteria met

Thought I would help by showing what i have tried so far.

    =IF(A1="No Survey Required")(A1,B1,C1,D1,E1)

I need to add that row B & D already have other Conditional formatting applied to them so need this formula to be applied to them too without overwriting thier existing conditional formating.

    Please have look to attachment,
I used it with conditional formatting.
When you chang "No Survey Required" colours change to normal. You can change it from drop down list (used data validation)

    =$A$1="No Survey Required"
