    Cells same as other cells ( Simple question, help appreciated !!!)

    Rather than explaining my problem here in text, please have a quick look at my excel file which will describe it.

    Your formula in J2 (then copied across and down) should be:

    =VLOOKUP($I2 & " - " & J$1,$A$2:$B$7,2,FALSE)

    But without a workbook in the layout you're actually using it's not possible to tell you exactly how to adapt this.

    Sorry for my lack of understanding of formulas but I got an error message when I used that formula - see my attached screen shot.Error.jpg

    Possibly your Excel is set up to use semicolons rather than commas:

    =VLOOKUP($I2 & " - " & J$1;$A$2:$B$7;2;FALSE)

    Ok.

    Then, how do I change the formula if I want to add more cells? I have attached a new excel file. I think I would be able to figure out how the formula works if you change the formula so it works with the new excel file.
