I want to create a formula in one sheet, that will function as a formula in other sheets

I have created a data-entry sheet/template in which a user can enter a number of tasks, and next to some of the tasks enter simple formulas, like SUM, division, etc. I want these formulas to function as formulas, not values, in other sheets. The other sheets (reports) have the same lay-out as the data-entry template, meaning the cell references are identical. I suspect there must be a very simple solution to this?

It might be easier to understand what you want if you uploaded a sample workbook (with no sensitive info), showing the data you are working with, a few examples (manually entered if necessary) of what your expected outcome would be, and how you arrived at that
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: I want to create a formula in one sheet, that will function as a formula in other shee

Thanks for your quick reply. I don't see quick way to create (or extract) an example workbook for you from the model I've build. If necessary I will, but let me try to explain:
It basically is an advanced time and activity tracking model (one workbook), with several UserForms (build using VBA) for staff members to enter hours and/or activities, for a specific department.
All this goes into two separate databases, Hours and Activities, which feed into a single report. In this report you can select by name, department, day, week, month or year and the report will populate with the matching department and all the types of work (and hours worked) for that department, and all matching activities (with a variety of data for calls-made, E-mails sent, mail-responses, etc.).
When first starting to use this model, in the main set-up menu, the business owner/manager will create these departments, and enter the types of work for each department and the types of activity for Activities. This will populate the tables from which the report pulls its data (based on selections and matches in the databases).
What I'm trying to do is, for the user that is setting up this model for the first time in the set-up menu is to enter a simple formula for data that should be calculated and return a value in the report. For instance, for Department 1 the user may want to enter a formula in the set up menu (for which there is a special section to do so) that tells it to divide "Web Leads" by "Web Visitors" and thus return a % value. Or a SUM for Billable Client Hours. I now want that same formula (that is only entered once) to function in all the cells in the report.

Sorry for such a verbose reply. If this doesn't explain it well enough, I'll see if I can create a sample from my model for you to look at.

Thank you,

John
