Using your posted workbook, this regular formula returns the count of "BW" cells in Col_G.
H2: =COUNTIF(G:G,"BW")
EDITED TO INCLUDE THESE COMMENTS:
1) I completely missed the need to match the year.
2) I do have a question:
Do you want to count all instances that meet the criteria or just the cells on the same row as the formula?
Is that something you can work with?

I looked at all your formulas and changed them to perform what was requested. I also used the iferror() on all division prone cells in the summary,

=IF(RIGHT($N2,4)*1=$A2,IF($G2="BW",1,0),"")
