    returning the text result

=SUMIF(Dates!$B$2:$B$366,'Cover Sheet'!$B$4,Dates!$C$2:$C$366) This is the formula that I am using to return the sum in a different S.S. However, I want to use a formula like this that returns the text version of the cell. How can I use this same type of formula to return the text? I don’t need the sum any more.

I tried your formula, however, it still returned a numerical result, not the text in cell c4 of my formula.

Is that symbol at the end of the formula a @ sign?

    Thanks

    Hi bockerman,

I am not sure.. do you need formula's result as a TEXT or do you need formula itself as a TEXT ?

    Re: returning the text result

I am just trying to bring the word that I need to a different worksheet based on a certain date in the year.
When a date is entered in worksheet 1, it will go look for the topic in worksheet 2. Hope this helped.
