How to add a value to a cell when another cell contains a text?

    Looking at my attached example,

When Step 1 is completed, I will enter the date of completion.
When I do that, it will add the stated percentage (2% in this case) into the Percentage Completion cell.

When I enter the date of completion for Step 5, it will add 20% to the Percentage Completion cell, resulting the cell to show "22%".

    Is this possible?

I've tried playing around with "=IF(ISBLANK(C5),"",5)" but to no avail.

(P.S. Steps might not be completed in order)

    Help is much appreciated!

    Thank you!

That's a very quick reply! Thanks, I appreciate it!
    Btw it worked very well

However, is it possible to do it if I decided not have C4 to I4 (Max Percentage field), without hiding the cells?

    Would it be very tedious?

Re: How to add a value to a cell when another cell contains a text?

    you're very welcome
    =)

    try:
    =SUMPRODUCT((C5:I5<>"")*({0.02,0.05,0.08,0.1,0.2,0.25,0.3}))*100
    or
    =SUMPRODUCT((C5:I5<>"")*({2,5,8,10,20,25,30}))*100
format as %, so you don't need E8

Thanks a bunch! Everything worked perfectly!
May I ask, what does "<>" do?
