Need help with Adding percentages and getting the whole number result no rounding

When adding 2 rows of percentages without decimal places, I want to get the absolute value of the 2 numbers combined e.g. when I sum S/A and A as a percent with no decimals I get 81% instead of 82%. The percentages are calculated from a sheet of raw data. I tried the ROUND function e.g. =ROUND(B20+B21,2) but it adjusts up or down. Is there a function to just add the 2 percentages and get the total %?

41% A
7% NS
10% D
2% SD
100%
0% NR

81% S/A and A

Well, the real values of those might be 40.6% for example, which gets displayed as 41%, but when you add the (real) values together you get 81.2%, which is closer to 81% than 82%.

It might be better (for the result) to round the percentage calculation above, rather than add the percentages and then round then. Or you could round each one in the addition, like this:

=ROUND(B20,2)+ROUND(B21,2)

Why doesn't simply adding the two cells together and formatting the resulting cell to display no decimals accomplish this? Is it that the true value in S/A and A are something like 0.405?

Trying to make 0.405 + 0.405 = 0.82 is dishonest in general. Add a decimal of precision to S/A and A.

Thanks I will give that a shot. The person I created the spreadsheet for wants non-rounded numbers even though as you said the real values have decimal places but are not displayed as such.
