dragging "rank order" function down, skipping grouped cells

    Hello all,

I have a list of names in column A, with a varying number of cases beneath each name. The rows are grouped such that only the names are visible. I'm looking for a formula that I could drag down column B that gives each name a rank (1-12), leaving the hidden cells blank. I've attached an example.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Attached is the workbook with the rankings as I'd like them to appear.
