Unhappy Numbering ROWS sequentially on seperate sheets or files

    Hello all,

I am running into a problem numbering my Rows in Excel 2010

My first sheet or File 1.csv is numbered 1-1000000 using the formula =ROW()-1

Clicking outside that cell, the cell becomes 1
I copied that cell and pasted that
formula down to Row 1000000, it worked fine.

Now in my second sheet or File 2.csv when I try to start with the sequential number
of 1000001 it doesn't work. My rows should be numbered 1000001-2000000, but what shows is a decreasing number from -999999 down to -0

Please help, all I want to do is sequentially number Rows as High as I can on separate sheets or files.

    Chris

why not just enter 1000001 in your starting cell (A1), then in the cell below it enter: =A1+1
    then fill down
