value of row with adjacent "first blank" value (sorry it's confusing)

Hi all, I am trying to find a formula that will display a value best described by example

    Column A ColumnB
    10/23/12 4
    10/25/12 5
    10/27/12 9
    10/29/12

I am trying to find a formula for a data set similar to above. I would like my formula to show the value of column A next to the first blank cell in column B. In my example, I would want the formula to show "10/29/12". I am really struggling with this one. Thanks to anyone that can help!

    hi zoid,

welcome to the forum. I took a shot at your question and this is what I got. Taking that your dates start in cell A2 and the number start at cell B2 copy the formula in to cell C2 as its an array formula end it with Ctrl+Shift+Enter. and copy down if there are multiple entries.
