how to make cells change colour when dates expire

I am creating a spreadsheet to hold information about training qulaifications and important documentation, all which have expire dates. I am looking for a way in which I can have the cells which hold the expire dates change colour to orange two weeks before the actual expiry date and then turn red when the date does expire. I have basic Excel skills so replies with step by step help would be very much appreciated.

this is what is referred to as conditional formatting. Suggest you go to YouTube and query conditional formatting. there will be lots of step by step instructions that you will be able to follow.
