    lock the worksheet (tab) scrollbar

I have a worksheet (in excel 2003 or 2007 if necessary) with 20 worksheet tabs displayed on the bottom status bar. Tab1 is the menu and the other tabs are hidden under neath the horizontal scrollbar. I want to lock it so only the first tab 'name' is visible. so on the menu I click to worksheet2 (tab2) but still the only tab I can see below is menu (tab1).

You can see on the image what I mean

ss1 - how the tabs look behind the scrollbar
ss2 - how I want it to look (menu tab1 permanently on display)
    ss3 - how it looks when I click on a worksheet (tab2)

    ss3.jpgss2.jpgss1.jpg

Does anyone have any ideas how to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Andy

I'm not sure you can do what you want to achieve.
You can either have all the sheet tabs hidden, or all the tabs displayed.
To hide all the tabs, in excel 2007, go to options > advanced options and scroll down till you find a check box which says 'Show sheet tabs'. Uncheck it, and you are done.

Thanks for the quick response Excelphile.

It is useful to know you can hide the sheet tabs, I had forgotton that trick and although it will take some getting used to I think that is a good option. I can have a link to the menu tab in cell A1.

On Excel 2003 you go to Tools > Options > View / no to 'sheet tabs'

    Thanks,
