    Drink Recipe Spreadsheet

    Hello all,

In the following spreadsheet, I need a formula that will look for a specific drink and then multiply the included alcohols by their respective pour size.

I don't think I can accomplish this with vlookup and I've tried a few "if" functions but haven't got one to work yet.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    That works! Thank you Sir.

Now I just need to understand how to replicate the formula. I think I understand it, but what do the "$" do?

    Re: Drink Recipe Spreadsheet

$ makes the reference absolute (wont auto increment).

I just locked the heading for the column you could replace this ref with the actual text eg "Rum".

    Glad to help

    Gotcha. Thank you again!

Unfortunately we don't make the drinks, just audit them.

    Not nearly as cool.

I can tell you this though... bartenders are apt to give away 25% of alcohol in a bar... so tip well and odds are you'll always end up with a couple free drinks.

    Re: Drink Recipe Spreadsheet

    Follow up question.

How do I move the formula to the right. (ie from Teq to Rum, Gin, Vodka ect.) In the actual sheet there are about 150 different liquors, so rewritting the formula for each column would be a bear, but if I paste the formula to a different column it changes the reference points.

    Thank you,

    Adam

    Runnin L8,

Give the attached a try, I haven't double checked it but it should allow horizontal and vertical copying.

    PERFECT!!!!!!!!

I can't thank you enough for the help. We've been building these sheets by manually entering the formula's. Takes forever. Just did the entire sheet in about 5 seconds.

    Unbelievably helpful!
