Sorting with linked cells

In my old workbook, I have a table (A1:B5) on Sheet1, linked to Sheet2. The same table there but with a Filter on the data. It allows me to sort and everything was good.

In my new workbook, I have a table (A1:B5) on Sheet1, but this time I linked it on Sheet1 instead of a separate sheet. When I filter & sort the data, the linked stuff stays where it is and the rest sorts.

Why does it move the links when I use 2 sheets but the links are exempt from the sort when it'd done on the same page?

Since the only difference was that the one had the contents =A1 and the other =Sheet1!A1, I just changed the former to match the latter. Having the sheet name seems to make it work.

Extend arm (left or right) straight above head. Bend arm at elbow towards your back. Gently pat your back a couple of times.
