    calculating values over dates

    Hello,

I have the following problem: I have production runs over time at different rates and different grade of product. I am trying to see how much of which is produced each month but can not come up with something easy. Any help would be a plus!

    Let me show an example:

    Run 1:
    Start: November 1
    End: November 15
    Grade: A
    Daily Rate: 500

    Run 2:
    Start: November 16
    End: November 25
    Grade: B
    Daily rate: 430

    Run 3:
    Start: November 26
    End: December 9
    Grade: A
    Daily rate: 485

    Run 4:
    Start: December 10
    End: January 5
    Grade: B
    Daily rate 382

    Etc...

    Thanks a lot!

Yes, a sum of daily rates by grade level that would give me how much of grade A is produced in November and how much of grade B. Same thing for December, January, etc.

u could use a row where the year appears and have the formula reference that. then you can hide the formula. This way you will not have the manually change the equation every time the year changes.

The problem is that when a run starts in one month and finishes another month, your solution gives all the volume to one month, without splitting. i would like to see the split.

    Re: calculating values over dates

    Re: calculating values over dates

I appreciate your help and I apologize if I am not clear enough.
Yes, what you are suggesting makes sense: if the run starts on November 15 until December 10 for grade A at a daily rate of 320, then it would be 15 days @ 320 = 4800 for November on A and 3200 for A in December. But if A starts again on December 28 until January 12 at a daily rate of 500, then the new December A total would be 3200 + (4 * 500) = 5200.

    Hope it helps
