Avoiding the #Div/0! error message in a formula?

hi - I need to get the result of a sum which may have 0.00 as a value in its dependents

I want to allow people to choose how they propose a pay increase, by percentage or £ and then use a formula based on the maximum value between the two but at the same time allow the user to post the inevitable 0.00% and £0.00 at the same time (i.e. no salary increase)

But when I try to use 0.00 values in a formula I'm getting the DIV/0! error!

Hi wilgoss,

It is because you are dividing 30000 by zero. Below is what your formula is doing:-

=30000/0/100

You can avoid error display by using IFERROR function as shown below:-
=IFERROR(A7/(E7-A7)/100,"")

but I believe you should rather revise your logic to do it in much better way. thanks.
