Hello, this is my first post' iv'e tried to search on the forum but maybe i've used the wrong words, so excuse me if there is already a threat for what im asking...
My situation is this:
I've a list of description of bank movemets, like this:
date Payment to mr.xyz ammount
the description has also other words in it, and some of those me be common to other cells
date Payment to mr.abc ammount
the description has also other words in it, and some of those me be common to other cells
date Payment to mr.xxx ammount
the description has also other words in it, and some of those me be common to other cells
date Payment to mr.xyz ammount
the description has also other words in it, and some of those me be common to other cells
date Payment to mr.xyz ammount
date Payment to mr.yyy ammount
date Payment to mr.zzz ammount
I write a list (maybe in another sheet) that i can then modify by adding other elements like this:
mr. xyz category 1
mr. abc cat. 2
mr .xxx cat. 3
words cat. 4
common cat. 5
any of the words in the description cat. 6
The result should be that i can categorize every row from the bank document automatically...
date Payment to mr.xyz ammount Category 1

if there is a conflict of categories than it should return an error... or may be write "cat.1, cat.2" in the category column...
This is what i'm tryng to do, i forgot to mention i'm doing this on google spreadsheet, for mobility purposes. Can anyone help me?
