Cells dont take values from its parent in a column

    I have the following file:

    web.xlsx

For the Tasknr column, i want every row to display the tasknr of its parent so to say. Like in the image below:
    Naamloos.png

So every line needs some kind of formula to find out what its 'parent' searchtask is and stop at the next searchtask nr..

    Thanks.

Re: Cant figure out a formula for this

Hi, For the image attached by you, i understood that whereever, searchtask appears in C column, the no. of tasknr should increase by 1. If my understanding is correct, you can use this formula from A3.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Thanks for your answer, but i think you misunderstood.

For: /Searchtask_01a.htm for example. It should take the 1 out of it, and apply it too all its children, till it hits an other /Searchtask_02a.htm, then it should change tasknr to 2 and apply that to its children till it finds /Searchtask_03a etc..

You mean to say the searchtasks may not be in the sorted order - 1,2,3,...? Then you can use this formula
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Re: Cant figure out a formula for this

It works half, at the lines with searchtask its correct. But when i 'drag' down the formula to copy it to below cells. the cells withou searchtask in it display 1.. Where it should be 2 or 3 for example.

Could you post your xls ?
