    Accumulative with a twist!

    Hello everyone,

Im currently making a handy spread sheet to help with work.

I really like statistics, and what im trying to achieve is to record how many contracts our company gets.

We sell photocopiers, and i organise the installation of them. There are three parties involved who are C.H.O.N, Canon and KM. Each photocopier is under a contract with anyone of those companies. As a statistic i would like to see how many each of the three companies has a photocopier under contract.

I have attached a small Spread sheet below that will hopefully explain what im trying to achieve.

    Hi

a simple countif formula will do the trick though you'll need the A8-10 to be the names of the company - or put these in hidden cells so you can keep the wording of total

    =COUNTIF($C$2:$C$5,A8)

    Hi

I believe that with a slight modification, you can use COUNTIF function.

    Re: Accumulative with a twist!

I tried out the solutions and although the CountIF formula does work, im only half done at this stage.

With the solutions provided, each time i change the Contract name in Cells C2 to C5 the totals will change according to the CountIF formula.

So Cells C2 to C5 have C.H.O.N twice. The total ends up being 2, but say i replace C.H.O.N with Canon it will then change the total saying theres only 1 C.H.O.N contract and now theres a total of 2 for Canon.

Can we accumulate this? so no matter how many times we change the Contracts in Cells C2 to C5 it will keep adding up in the totals.

Im not sure if this makes sense, but i can update what i attached earlier to help out.

    Cheers
