Dates not copying correctly

Why did this text disappear????

I have 2 spreadsheets - 1 received from a friend and made on excel 2007. I tried to copy the dates onto my spreadsheet made in Excel 2003 but the year 2007 insisted on displaying as 2003.

I tried converting dates to numbers and adding 4 years (1460), but nothing changed when I converted the result back to dates.

Can you post a sample file, with some of the dates.

Thanks - seems a typical MS'ism with no logical explanation - I tried again and got the dates to read correctly, using the same procedure!!!! Except for eight dates at the end of the file which decided to add 8 years - I changed them by hand!!!!

There were various other strange things going on as well!!!!! I was un-able to scroll down without unfreezing panes!!!!

If you happen to know, on the 2007 file I found no way of going to row 1 - I wanted to use the blue border above it to move the file down - no way!!!!!! I tried entering A1 at top left corner and pressing enter - it only went to A2!!!!!

You get what you pay for I guess
