Extracting specific Data from a column

I'm trying to complete a project. I have 100 student GPA's in column D2-D100. GPA's ranges are all over the board. Looking at my boss's request below - can someone help me with the formula's? I've tried COUNT, COUNTA - but w/ no luck. The students classifications are between E2:E100

    Any help is appreciated

Number of students who would graduate with high honors, i.e. those with a GPA above 3.75.
Number of students who would graduate with honors, i.e. those with a GPA above 3.50 but less than 3.75.
Number of students who need to be placed on probation, i.e. those with a GPA below 2.00.
The average of all students who are passing, i.e. those with a GPA not less than 2.0.

    Produce the following counts:
Number of freshmen with high honors
Number of sophomores with high honors
Number of juniors with high honors
Number of seniors with high honors

Re: Extracting specific Data from a column

    High Honors: =SUMPRODUCT(--(E2:E100>3.75))
    Honors: =SUMPRODUCT(--(E2:E100>3.5)*(E2:E100<3.75))
    Probation: =SUMPRODUCT(--(E2:E100<2.0))
    Average: =SUMPRODUCT(--(E2:E100<2.0)*(E2:E100))/SUM(E2:E100)
