    Year to date formula help

    Hi all,

New here and looking for help on a way to keep a running year to date total by changing the current amount and the year to date amount is updated according to the change in current date. We currently manually enter YTD using the + method. Looking for a way to automate that process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached an example.

    Thanks,
    Jimmy

Re: Year to date formula help

    Hello..

One of the simple way is to create another column for Previous YTD and put the formula in current YTD like below

Current YTD = Current MTD + Previous YTD

Please see the file. hope this will slove your purpose.

Re: Year to date formula help

    Thanks for the help.

I am really not concerned with previous year. I want to be able to put a value in column A(current amount) and have column C (YTD) reflect the change and keep a running total. In other words if column A is changed to any number it should be added on to column C.

    Thanks

before you are updating the current month vlaues in the column A, remember to take the value from YTD and put in the Previous Month YTD.
