Need help with conditional formatting if other cell contains a word

Hello again, I was impressed how people quickly reacted and helped me to solve a problem with excel previously for FREE.

    One more question I have:

I have dates in column A and words in column B

I want that all dates in column A would be red for example if in column B there is a word "YES", if there is word "NO" then do not format that cell. Now I think I need to choose "Use a formula to determine which cells to format". But have no idea what formula should I use, something with IF I guess.

Also maybe You can give me references to some good learning material about excel so I could not bother You here anymore.

    Thank You in advance!

Just to add one more thing that should hopefully help in future.

With conditional formatting you don't use IF statements as the conditional formatting only does something if the outcome is True.

    Hope that helps.

Isn't that what a IF function does, return a TRUE or FALSE!

    @ JackBauer

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED. I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.

Also, as an infrequent user of the forum, you may not be aware that you can thank those who have helped you by clicking the small star icon located in the lower left corner of the post in which the help was given. By doing so you can add to the reputation(s) of those who helped.
