One button clear all without macros

    Hi again,

I have an excel sheet that it will be used by lots of different people. My problem is that I need to set a CLEAR ALL button that will bring specific cells (different text eachtime in each cell) back to their original state as it was before start using it. Mind that some cells have drop down menus with multiple entries that i do not wish to lose. Also keep in mind that the cells i require to clear, are the only ones that are not protected. The protected cells will be fixed.

I would like, if possible, not to be any macro related solution. I have tried with macro but I'm having some problems.

    Thank you

I think this would have to be a macro solution, as formulae can't do many of the things you describe.

I have tried macros but my problem is this... i have several drop down menus which i want to be cleared. I want in those drop down menus when i press clear button, to return to their first entry (which is a single line) but unfortunately it does not work quite well in macros. Any ideas?

    What code have you tried?
What does it do that you don't like? (or doesn't that you do)?

..Wrap code by selecting the code and clicking the # or read this. Thank you.

Re: One button clear all without macros

I'm not too familiar with macros but what I did is this:

I started recording macro, selected all fiels i wish to clear (with and without drop down menus), pressed delete and then stop recording macro. I inserted a form control on sheet and when i pressed that button it all cleared. The thing with my drop down menus, I have multimple cells refering to the same drop down list containing 10 items. First item in my list are lines as shown in parenthesis (-----). The other 9 items are just words. All i want is that when i press the button to clear all, all cells containing drop down menus must return (----) and not the words.

I hope i was clear enough.

    Thank you

By "dropdown menu" do you mean a cell with List Validation or a Drop Down from the forms menu or an ActiveX control?
