Although this formula works
=SUMIF(V2:V15,"A L",Y2:Y15)+SUMIFV2:V15,"IT",Y2:Y15)
I'm curious as to how it would look possibly with a nested OR, instead of the above relatively unsophisticated syntax.

Not an "OR" exactly but this will also work
=SUM(SUMIF(V2:V15,{"A L","IT"},Y2:Y15))
