    PERCENTILE.INC and PERCENTILE.EXC - difference

    Could someone explain the difference between the PERCENTILE.EXC and -.INC-functions.
    This is not clear when reading the xl-help-functions..

    PERCENTILE.INC is the conventional PERCENTILE fucntion

    Differences between .EXC and >INC are
    PERCENTILE.EXC works on the basis of interpolating values in case k is not a multiple of 1/(n+1)
    PERCENTILE.INC works on the basis of interpolating values in case k is not a multiple of 1/(n-1)

    Hence, if k is < 1/(n+1) or k is > n/(n+1), .EXC is unable to interpolate, and so returns an error, whilst .INC will execute and return a value
