Generating Random Numbers that Don't Change When the File is Reopened

    Hello, everyone.

I need to use a Random Number Generator that generates random numbers for me, but I do not want the numbers to change once I exit the file and reopen it. How can I do this?

When I use the =RAND function, the numbers change when I reopen the file. I need them to stay the same because I am using the random numbers to sort the data in the adjacent cells.

    Thanks,

    newbie0101

Copy the column and paste as values.

All I can find is that after you generate the number, right click the cell and select paste to paste the value.

AH! Found a better one! Simply type =RAND() in the cell and then press F9
