Newbie... Need Formula Help ASAP! Counting Text In Multiple Sheets

Hi There! New to the site, thought I'd give it a try to answer one of my problems!

I have been looking for over an hour to find a formula to count a specific word across multiple (like over 50) worksheets in a workbook.

I just want to count how many times the word "live" shows up across all the worksheets.

Any suggestions?

Hi ahudler,

Welcome to the forum.

I quick way would be.. press Ctrl + F, write the word to be found in field "Find What". Change dropdown to "Workbook" in field "within" and click on Find All.

You will see your answer in the bottom left side boarder of the window as "n cell(s) found" and n is your answer

Thank you for your response! I was doing this previously, but the workbook(s) I am working out of is constantly being updated. I tried a Countif function with naming all the worksheets as a Range, and I guess you can't name multiples sheets as a range, as it wouldnt let me?

I believe that would not make any difference. Ctrl + F in Workbook will search your word in all the worksheets and will display the count at the bottom.. and this is what you are looking for. Thanks.
