    Question Recipe Breakdown

OK, I'm in need of a little assitance with a formula.

I'm currently doing most of the calculations manually and entering a very basic formula but I'd like to streamline it a bit.

Basically I'm trying to work out the cost of an ingredient relevant to the recipe.

For example a bag of flour costs £1.79 and it weighs a kilogram. I use 110g for the recipe. So the basic formula I'm using is the "flour cost cell"/9.....

I'd very much like to have it set up so that the computer works out the figure that I have to divide by for itself.

Of course I have all sorts of weights and measures to deal with too, not just g and kg!

So yeah, I do have a few sheets already typed up if you want to see my layouts!

    You could simply use..

=B2*D2/C2 and copy the formula down in the column.
This will work only with numbers though, and ensure that the denoination that you have is consistent across Columns C & D. e.g in Row 2 Col C shd read per '1000' and Col D should be '85'

Is this something you can work with?

    **Head explodes!!**

That is so scarily easy! Here I am concentrating on trying to divided all the time and I didn't think about multiplication!

The couple of ingredients I've tested it on seems to suggest it'll be exactly what I'm looking for!
With a few tweaks to add the measurement and I should be able to create a promising template to bounce off!

    Ta muchly....
