Conditional formating in a cell when value in another cell is NOT 0

    Hello,

could anyone help me with a formatting problem.

I need to highlight cells in a column A when corresponding cell in column B is not 0.

I used conditional formatting with formula: =$B:$B<>0 (apply to) A:A. It didn't work. but when I change <> to = it just highlighted everything in A regardless if there is 0 in the cell of B or not.

    Please help.

    Thanks

    Change the formula to

    =$B1<>0
