Problem with signs on budget percent variance formula

    Hi all,
I am trying to limit the results of an IF formula so that I can display a character "*" if the result of the cell is over 100% + or -. I tried nesting my formula in another IF formula but it become circular since I want the current cell to handle the display in thi smanner. Sorry hope this is clear. Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Leigh
