    SUMIFS - multiple criteria on one list?

    So I have a question with SUMIFS - basically I have a column which I would like to exclude based on multiple criteria.

    What would the syntax be to exclude more than one criteria? At the moment I have Sheet1!$A:$A,"<>a" but what if I wanted to exclude a as well as b?
